Table of Contents
The new writing experience in Contents introduces changes to the structure of platform elements. With this release, documents and images are no longer present on the platform. Instead, the concepts of Projects and Media are introduced. These elements allow content to become modular and be reused across multiple assets within the same workspace.
This guide will explain what projects and media are, and how they differ.
Definition of Project
A Project is an element created using a text generation tool (AI Writer tool). It is primarily used to develop text and can contain media inside. Projects cannot contain other projects but can be grouped into folders.
Projects support content iteration over time, through manual user actions or via additional AI tools available in the Contents editor.
To learn more about how projects can be edited, refer to the guides Introduction to the New Contents Editor and AI Features of the Editor
Definition of Media
Media is a standalone multimedia element that can be reused within projects. As of now, media refers to items generated with image creation tools (AI Art), but its nature will be expanded over time to include other types of multimedia content.
Media cannot be iterated. Once created, it remains unchanged—any modification requires the creation of a new media asset.
There are two types of media:
- Local when they are contained within a project
- Global when they are generated directly by AI Art and can be inserted across multiple projects
To better understand the differences between local and global media and how to use them, refer to the guides How Local Media Works and How the Global Library Works
